Prairie WWWW is an experimental rock band from Taipei. Their music combines Taiwanese poetry, folk, ambient and indigenous
tribal elements.
The band seeks inspiration from the might of nature, and with a mixture of sounds and visual arts in their performances, they manage to bring forward a unique soundscape, visually and aurally, to their audiences.

I discovered Scattered Purgatory at a psychedelic music gig in an industrial Sydney suburb on a rainy night. They conjure deep mysticism with abstract soundscapes, This album takes them further than their God of Silver Grass. Truly a masterpiece.

At points, this reminds me of the bands that defined early chillwave, like Ducktails, Memory Tapes, or Predator Vision; the guitars are similarly reverb-y and chorus-drenched, chords splashing out lazily and slow, swaggers subverted into saunters. However, the Eastern melodic flavor gives this more of an overtly mystical aesthetic, and the instrumentation and compositional elements are far more exotic and interesting. Highly recommended.
